We lost Starbuck in September of 2009, only three months after losing Baymount's Ashley, our favorite daughter of Starbuck. Our two favorite horses gone within months of each other, now buried next to each other. We loved Starbuck for several reasons. He had a fantastic hip, lovely laid back shoulder and good length to his neck. He had great straight legs, nice bone and great feet and of course his thick wavy tail and mane which people loved. He screamed Morgan type. There was no mistaking him for anything but a Morgan even with his golden coat. The UPS driver, drove up one day and looked at Starbuck and proclaimed "You breed Morgans!" Starbuck had a super golden sheen to his coat. People would stop me and ask what product I had used on him to make him shine. But it was just his coat and how it reflected the light. Unfortunately, most of the pictures on our website of him were taken in the pre-digital days and the developing made him look more bay in the photos than his true gold. Starbuck was a proud masculine stallion and would bounce at the trot, strutting his stuff, out of the stall announcing to the mares he was there. He had a high libido which made covering mares easy. He bred his last mare a month before his death. What we loved most though, was Starbuck's gentle nature. He would give kids pony rides bareback. He produced intelligent using horses that loved being with their owners. No words can describe how much we loved this stallion. We love you Starbuck. Thanks for the ride.
